JMI is bringing asphalt and concrete recycling to Jamestown! See some recycling facts below!

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) estimates that of the 90 million tons of hot mix asphalt (HMA) that are milled and removed each year, 90% is reused in highway applications in one form or another, including pavements, subbase and fill. About 1/3 of the 90 million tons is recycled into HMA, according to documents published by the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA).

There are a variety of benefits in recycling concrete rather than dumping it or burying it in a landfill.

• Keeping concrete debris out of landfills saves landfill space.
• Using recycled material as gravel reduces the need for gravel mining
• Recycling one ton of cement could save 1,360 gallons water, 900 kg of co2
• Using recycled concrete as the base material for roadways reduces the pollution involved in trucking material

JMI will be offering crushed concrete, to be used in various applications, along with crushed blacktop.
